Baptismal dresses: how to choose?
Baptism is an important moment in the life of the child. However, the choice of clothing for the occasion can be difficult, which is why today we intend to talk to you about baptismal dresses.
Shopping for children is undoubtedly one of the many joys offered by motherhood. Going around the shops looking for a soft and colorful dress for your baby to wear can in fact be a hilarious experience, especially in the first years of a child's life, when every choice is an exciting first time.
Even baptism with regard to first times, is to be perceived as a very important step. This ceremony has the task of starting the little one towards a Christian education but it is also to be understood as a very significant event from a social point of view. For the occasion, therefore, shopping is a necessary operation.
Most of the time, however, the pressure that revolves around the religious celebration together with the desire to make everything impeccable ends up compromising the pleasantness of the moment, making the afternoon of shopping for mother and son a spasmodic and unnerving exploration.
In an attempt to make shopping as a new mother a serene and pleasant experience, we therefore decided to draw up a list of tips to apply when choosing a christening gown.
Baptismal dresses: how to dress the baby for the ceremony.
The need to dress the child adequately for the baptismal ceremony comes mainly from two reflections: the first is linked to the sacredness of the event celebrated, which in any case requires a formal outfit; the second, on the other hand, depends on how baptism is perceived by the Catholic community, which also sees the reception as an opportunity to present the baby to relatives and friends.
For this reason there is a desire to make his clothing impeccable. The ideas, when it comes to baptismal dresses, are many. However, a distinction must be made between those dedicated to women's clothing and those dedicated to men's clothing.
Baptismal ceremony dresses : ideas for little girls
For the ceremony, the first rule to be self-imposed is to respect a sober and formal dress code. Baptism, as repeated several times, is a sacred moment and, as nice as the idea of dressing the little ones in a nice way is, it is always better not to overdo it.
In the case of a little girl, however, there are several ways to try to make a dress witty, despite the lines to be respected. The general trend is in fact to dress the girls in white and to prefer a type of royal clothing for them, like little princesses.
However, we do not recommend choosing materials such as tulle, which can affect the child's comfort.
The reception
For the reception, on the other hand, you can dare a little more. This is why we recommend giving life to colors but still prefer pastel ones. The ideas, in this regard, are many. You can opt for a split suit - with a skirt, shirt or sweater depending on the climate - or opt for a onesie, which also turns out to be a perfect unisex formula.
Baptismal dresses : ideas for baby
For boys, an idea could instead be to buy a small and very elegant tuxedo. Also this time, for the ceremony, we suggest to prefer the white color, a symbol of purity that has always been associated with the most important sacraments. The reception
If you intend to change your baby once you arrive at the restaurant, there are many ideas to be inspired by. Very nice are the separates with shirt and vest, which make the choice of clothing very elegant even for the second part of the ceremony. On the other hand, those who want to keep the baby comfortable can opt for a light and warm-colored dungaree: a nice and very practical option.
We do not recommend the use of jeans, which in addition to being uncomfortable for a child can also be too sporty for the occasion.
The bow tie , on the other hand, is welcome and, if associated with a pretty hat, makes the outfit both elegant and fun.
